William "Bill" Harmon Obituary

William Boyd (Bill) Harmon aged 80 of Rio Linda gained freedom from every earthly Care and sorrow in the early morning hours of December 9th, 2021
Born the Fourth son of Harvey Allen Harmon and Vera Grace Balmforth on November 11th, 1941 in Rigby, ID
Bill grew up in Idaho andWashington state. He met his sweetheart Karen Tolman in Othello, WA and they were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls LDS temple on JUly 31st, 1961. To this union were born six children. Karen passed away from cancer on February 14th, 1997, a loss that is still keenly felt today.
On November 10th of 1997 Bill married again, this time to Carolyn Jeanice Gray. They spent 7 happy years together until Carolyn passed away suddenly due to cancer on February 12th,2004, another deep loss to Bill and family.
Bill once again took a chance on love and married Corazon Cordon on February 10th, 2006 in Manila, Philippines. Sadly, Cora passed away from Cancer on August 31st, 2016,another terrible loss to the Harmon family.
Throughout his life Bill was a master of many trades. He worked at Ad-Art in Sacramento, CA in the early to mid 60's and helped build the original RENO sign. A sheet metal welder, he built tuned exhausts for motorcycles at a shop in Redwood City,CA. He loved motorcycles and so this was a perfect fit for him.He was a salesman at Montgomery Wards in Pacifica, CA for a couple of years and then moved his family to Moses Lake, WA Where he drove a potato truck for a while and then worked at the U&I sugar company. In 1972 the opportunity came to move his young family to British Columbia,Canada where in addition to partnering with a long time friend on a ranch, he also worked at the McMillan/Ainsworth Lumber company near Lone Butte,BC and later trained to be a millwright. He spent a couple years working at the Baldy-Hughes radar station near Prince George,BC after several back injuries and surgeries prevented him from working at the sawmill any longer. He eventually trained as a boiler operator and worked at the heat plant at UC Davis in Davis California until his retirement in the mid 1990's.
Bill was a great mechanic and could often be found helping out a friend, family member or complete stranger in need by taking a look under the hood of their car!
His love of music will be remembered by all who knew him. Many a happy memory of him playing his old Gibson guitar and singing with Karen and Good friends will live on in our hearts and minds.
Bill loved his six kids and the eight additional kids he gained through his marriages to Carolyn and Cora. His Grandkids, (his little Mugwumps) always put a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Del Allen, Charles Linden and Harvey Glen. And by all three of his loving wives, Karen, Carolyn and Cora.
