Yvonne Louise Neal, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in Penryn, California, at the age of 88.

Born in Sacramento in 1937 to Bud and Elsie Richmond, Yvonne grew up with her brother, Ed Richmond, and graduated from McClatchy High School. During her young adulthood, she spent six cherished summers living and working in South Lake Tahoe. It was there that she met the love of her life, Ray Neal. The two were married in 1957 and began a beautiful life together.

Yvonne and Ray raised four sons—Steve, Dave, Rick, and Ron. She was a devoted mother whose greatest joy came from her family. She and Ray shared 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. Yvonne later endured the loss of her eldest son, Steve, in 2015.

She is survived by her brother, Ed; her sons Dave (Kim), Rick (Karen), and Ron (Amy); and a large, loving extended family. Yvonne was deeply proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is remembered by Steve’s wife, Brenda, and their children, Jennifer and Chris; by Dave and Kim’s children—Brittney, John, Kyle, and Brian; by Rick and Karen’s children—Katie, Tyler, and Riley; and by Ron and Amy’s children—Jordan and Ronan.  Yvonne treasured her six great-grandchildren: Landon, Lilliana, Stevie, Oliver, Bennett, and Michael. She also shared a special bond with her cat, Dina, who was her faithful companion.

For 30 years, Yvonne devoted her time as a volunteer with the Mercy San Juan Guild and the American Cancer Society. She and Ray loved to travel, exploring the United States, Canada, the Hawaiian Islands, the Caribbean, and Mexico together. Many cherished family memories were made at their longtime cabin in Calaveras County. 

Yvonne will be remembered for her warm spirit, unwavering love, and the deep loyalty she had for her family and friends.

Yvonne leaves behind a legacy of love, and lifelong friendships that will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and forever loved.  Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
