Zetta Florence Ansbaw

Zetta “Paddy” Florence Gilman Stromberg Ansbaw passed away peacefully in her home on March 4th, 2025.

She was born September 13, 1935 in Santa Monica, CA to parents Wayne and Zetta Gilman exactly 9 months to the day of her parents wedding.

Paddy met Keith Stromberg while attending Sierra College and soon married.  They were later sealed in the Oakland Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  They were married for 35 years.
After Keith’s passing Paddy met and married Fred Ansbaw and were married for 19 years until his passing.

While Keith served 20 years in the military, Paddy followed and supported him in his duties as he transferred to different bases.  She moved their household from California to Colorado, to Illinois then to England and to Germany then settling back in Dixon, California.

Paddy served in many callings in the LDS Church and recently her most precious calling was serving 15 years in the Sacramento Temple as an Ordinance Worker.  The gospel played an important part in Mom’s life and she loved to share her faith with others.   

Mom was an active member of T.O.P.S. (Take off pounds sensibly) for 30+ years, serving in many different positions on their board.  

She loved to shop and was always dressed to the nines.  She loved decorating her home and caring for her garden and fruit trees.

Mom was an excellent sewer, which she took much pride in, sewing clothes for all her children.  She would surprise them with new outfits for many special occasions.  

Paddy was a writer for the Dixon Tribune in the 70’s winning awards for the articles she wrote.  She worked at the 5 and dime store in Dixon as a clerk enjoying all the children that would come in to buy penny candy, which reminded her of her youth.

Paddy is survived by her four children Kim Penner (Ray), Kandie Chivers (DeeJay), Kelly Ott, Keith Daniel Stromberg (Monica) and 9 Grandchildren and 18 Great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Keith Alan Stromberg of 35 years and  Husband Fred Ansbaw, Parents Wayne and Zetta Gilman, Brothers Larry and Roy Gilman, sister-in-law Char Gilman and niece Babette Banducci.

Graveside services will be held on March 13th, 2025 at the Silveyville Cemetary at 800 S. First St., Dixon, CA at 11:00 a.m.  Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
