Larry Steven Minasian, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many passed away at home on January 8, 2018 at the age of 68 years.
Larry was born July 8, 1949 in San Francisco, CA. After graduating from high school he joined the US Army and served in Germany. Upon returning home he married and joined the San Francisco Police Dept. Health issues forced him to leave law enforcement after 9 years. In 2010 Larry pursued a life-long dream of attending seminary and becoming a pastor/chaplain. He founded Dustoff Ministries in 2011, a ministry serving veterans. Larry served on the Board for American Legion Post 367. In Oct 2016 Larry was honored to receive a Congressional Record Award and a California State Award for his ongoing work with veterans and Dustoff Ministries. His greatest passion was loving and serving God, his family and veterans.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, William and Patricia Minasian, sister Mary, wife Judy and daughter Karrie Provost. He is survived by his loving wife Doreen, sister Louise Appleby (Greg), nephew Dan Devencenzi, sons William Minasian (fiancé Sharon), Stephen Adams (Ken) and Mark Adams (Elvajean) and beloved grandchildren, Morgan, Brooke, Caitlyn, Melani, Lowen and Lexi.
Larry had a kind heart and a giving nature. He will be missed by many.
Larry will be interred at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA, January 24 at 11:30 am. A celebration of life will follow at the American Legion Hall in Dixon.
