Ms. O'Neill was a teacher and school counselor at Rio Del Sol continuation school I attended in the 80's. I was actually just searching her name to contact her to let her know that I am in graduate school for school psychology when I found that she had died.
She was warm, funny and wise with her words. I felt as if she was more like a friend than a teacher or counselor. I recall her asking me to attend a Suicide Prevention conference with her during school time. I felt so privileged to be there with her and the other adults. I often wondered if she asked me to come because she knew I was sad and a bit lost in my world at the time.
Thank you Ms. O'Neill, I know you touched a lot of kids at that little school.
I will strive to be as wise, friendly and easy going as you were while working with my kids.

Alice, you came in to my family's life like a angel. I met you at Will Rogers then we were together at El Camino, then you were at San Juan Caring and loving, looking out for my 4 children. You stop by my home just to see how she was feeling. You have been an angel long before you pass though the gates of heaven. Rest in peace, you will be missed.

Alice was a very caring and compassionate counselor for her students. She was also a very congenial and fun colleague for the teachers and staff at El Camino High School. As a teacher there, I really enjoyed working with Alice, and I am very sorry at her passing. My condolences to her family.

Alice's smile, one of a kind sayings & her use of the most obscure words always made my day. I was fortunate to spent many, many, many one on one hours as I did her nails over many years. She fought this terrible battle with such style & grace. I will forever remember her with a smile in my heart for a unique and special person.

Alice and I both taught at Rio Americano High School and Rio Del Sol Continuation High School during the 1970s and '80s. Since we lived only a block away from each other in Carmichael at the time, we carpooled together to work. She was a great friend and traveling companion. She was bright, funny, empathic, talented and a joy to be around. Most of all, she was a conscientious, intelligent, and caring teacher, and her students admired and loved her. Even though we didn't maintain contact with each other during our retirement years--much to my regret--just knowing that she is not with us anymore is sad.

I taught at El Camino while Alice was there. We both had spent time in Tucson, so there were always stories to share. She was such a bright light! I used to stop by her office just to visit for a bit. She always saw the humor in everything--a rare gift. My sincere condolences to you all.

Ms. Huck, as we called her, was one of my favorite teachers. She was always smiling, always kind, and always filled with great ideas! I still use so many of the skills I learned in her decorative arts class. She helped shape me into the crafty person I am today and I think of her so often. I hope her family will take some small comfort in knowing she was so important in the lives of young people.

I was sad to learn of Alice's passing. We started as home economics teachers many years ago in SJUSD--Alice at Rio Americano HS and me at San Juan HS. What a great gal she was--always smiling and willing to share her "lesson plans" with the rest of us. She brought joy and laughter to all our get togethers. May beautiful memories of what family and friends shared with her bring comfort.

Those of us who were fortunate enough to know her and be one of her friends were treated to her quick wit, unique story telling, and gracious generosity. They indeed broke the mold after Alice arrived. No one else could replace her.
