Shirley Gayle Bachand (née Doggett) died peacefully on December 5th, 2017 in Orangevale, California at the age of 67.

Gayle was born on August 4th, 1950 in Oregon to Keith and Shirley Doggett and is survived by her children, Charlie and Katie Bachand. She lived in the Sacramento area for over 40 years and spent much of that time as an R.N. Director and diabetes educator at Roseville Hospital. Toward the end of her career, she was a dialysis clinic administrator.

As a highly creative person, Gayle painted still lifes and was also accomplished at landscape design. She was a warm, generous, and witty person who loved to help others above all. One of her favorite things was to help friends and family with health questions and support them in any way she could. Gayle was very proud of her Modoc Indian heritage and her relative Chief Kintpuash (“Captain Jack”).

A memorial is scheduled for Friday, December 15th, at 10:00 am at Price Funeral Chapel in Citrus Heights. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gayle’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
