Hello Leon, Evette, and Evonne: It was about 35 years ago that I met your Dad. He was such a Fun , Colorful person and I'll never forget the day we went to Roseville Auction and your Dad was so excited about buying little cute animals for the Pumpkin Farm's Halloween Events. He was a character in that he was very intelligent, but he never ceased to amaze me because he was so Down to Earth even though he had degrees, and a great job. His Early Years on the Farm in Canada Definitely Defined him. That summer one of the twin girls and Leon came out and we all went rafting down the River. Do you remember that? Your Dad had the Most Handsome Son (Leon )and I'm sure the twin daughters were Both Beautiful because he showed me all your pictures. He was so Proud of you children. The qualities that I most admired about your Dad were: Gentleman, Strong Work Ethic, Love of his children and the Pumpkin Farm ,and his Zeal for life. I haven't seen him in years and I am so sorry for your Family and Grandchildren! Leonard's parents raised his with excellent strong life strengths. I asked him one time, "How do you know how to fix everything?" His answer had an impact on my life. He said, "I think other people could Fix Things, but they don't put out the Effort." Excellent!! I remembered that and I always try to fix things myself--and I surprised myself because I do not have a Mechanical aptitude. Your Dad was a "Master of all Trades." He was also a man that "Made things Happen" and was always willing to help. I 'm so sorry for your Family and your Dad was a Great Loss to Everyone who met him. Children... you were Blessed with the GreatestFather!

Sincerely,
Janie

Dear Thomas, Yvette, Yvonne, and family,
I am sorry to hear of your loss. Leonard has been my great mentor and friend for many years. We worked together at the State Chancellor's Office. I would often go to him for advice for everything including what to look for to buy a house. He is a remarkable person, very down to earth, humble and kind. I remember seeing you all at the pumpkin farm each year. Leonard and you all took care of my family very well. Thank you. Sorry as I have meetings in the Bay area on Monday and thus cannot make it. However, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Like what your daddy used to tell me, everything will be okay. Please let me know if I can of of any assistance.
Respectfully,
Chuen Chan & Family.

My deepest sympathies over the loss of Leonard. No person can ever prepare themselves for the feelings of loss that can come when our loved ones leave us. Please know that these feelings are temporary and will soon be replaced with wonderful and happy memories. The comfort from the scriptures can help during this difficult time. John 5:28,29 "for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life". Knowing that we can see our loved ones again in a future paradise free from the effects of ill health and suffering certainly warms our heart. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Dave

Leonard and I met in 1990 when I came to work at the Chancellor's Office. It was a privilege to have him in my life for so many years. Every hour and energy he put into the Pumpkin Farm was filled with his want to give to the community and to leave something to his children. His farm and family brought wonders into my life, too. He will always be in my heart as will this three children and ten grandchildren. My condolences to each of you in his loss. Hugs to you all.

Thomas, Yvette, Yvonne & family. Please accept our deepest condolences on the recent passing of Uncle Leonard. I’m so grateful that Renee & I got the opportunity to spend a day with him in June 2014. One of our fondest memories is the tour he took us on through “The Pumpkin Farm” our only wish is that we could have experienced it during the month of October. During our visit, he spoke fondly of his youth in Spruce Valley, farming with his parents and brothers and often missed it, he told us farming was in his blood and that was his inspiration behind “The Pumpkin Farm”. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Take comfort in knowing that Uncle Leonard is now at peace with God in his heavenly home, reunited with his parents and brothers.
